Our History
Here's a snapshot of Precision Retirement Group's development and growth.
Precision Retirement Group Inc.
Precision Retirement Group Inc. was established after several years of collaboration between the two principal partners Mark Powers and Bruce Nelson.
Both professionals were responsible for implementing one of the first Special Pay Plans with the Whitefish Bay School District, located just outside Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Because of the early success of the plan, PRG established their main office in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
PRIME CHOICE® Plan
PRG received a request about using exit-pay contributions for retiree medical coverage. Following up on the request with their client, the Oregon School District in Oregon, Wisconsin, PRG created the PRIME CHOICE® Plan.
Private Letter Rulings
The PRIME CHOICE® Plan receives support by two Private Letter Rulings which convert employee cash payouts at retirement into a medical account, enabling employees to pay for retiree health insurance – or they could choose the option of a tax-qualified account.
Complementing the PRIME CHOICE® Plan’s success, PRG created defined contributions plans, Special Pay Plans, and FICA Alternative plans.
Pelion Benefits Inc.
As a result of their success, PRG purchased their administrative partner, Pelion Benefits Inc., a national provider of 401(k) administration and service. With this purchase, PRG added retirement planning administration and record keeping services, state-of-the-art technology, and an ability to provide an even higher level of service.
PRG
PRG operates in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee, Utah and Wisconsin.
PRG continues to expand its reach to implement the PRIME CHOICE® Plan in cities, counties, and school districts throughout the country.
